Patients often feel stressed while at the doctor and do not “hear” everything that is said. Following the appropriate restrictions are essential to an optimal outcome. I have found that despite specific and precise instructions, patients do not always remember all that was said during their appointment. In an effort to minimize any “misunderstanding”, I have developed post-operative instructions sheets to be given to the patients at their immediate post-op appointment and their 6-week post-operative appointment.
